“Take Me To The River”

From the Bradford Tavern we'll ride some of my favorite quiet roads through Rowley, Newbury and West Newbury to the substantially newly paved River Road along the Merrimack River for foliage views in the sunny, chilly, autumn air.  There will be some autumn wind blowing the colorful leaves for a better effect.

The ride is mainly rolling with just a few climbs to keep you warm in the mid to upper 40 temps.

Hoping to see you all by 9:50 for a safety and route talk before we head to the river.

"Take Me to the River" (in the Grammy Hall of Fame) was written and performed by Al Green.  Also performed by Foghat, Levon Helm, the Dead, Annie Lenox, Delbert McClinton, Dave Matthews, Hootie and the Blowfish, Springsteen and the E Street Band, Lorde and Courtney Love.  Probably the best known recording is by The Talking Heads at about the time David Byrne was living here in Ipswich on Great Neck.   Enjoy!
