Have you been wondering about what gravel riding is like and whether it is for you? The North Shore Cyclists will host a free Introduction to Gravel Riding on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Greenbelt's Vineyard Hill Reservation on Asbury St. in South Hamilton.
Led by Tom Evers, a long-time all around cyclist, this introduction is aimed at beginning gravel riders, those curious to start gravel riding and those with only a few gravel rides so far and wanting to improve their abilities.
Participants will learn about preparing for a gravel ride, the types of bikes, tires, tire pressures, and chain drives suitable for gravel riding and its different conditions. Participants will also learn and practice some key skills aimed at making riders more confident and comfortable. The session will conclude with a short ride on some of the trails in the Vineyard Hill Reservation and Bradley Palmer State Park.
All kinds of bikes are welcome, but bikes with 32 mm-wide or wider tires will be more suitable.
This is a members-only event and you must log-in to register. Registration is limited to 20 persons.
