An end of spring tour of Cape Ann, just before the schools let out and the tourists arrive.
We'll start out from the Cox Reservation, roll thru MBTS and Magnolia before entering Gloucester and then circling Cape Ann. Once we return to Gloucester Bay, we will head back to the Cox Reservation via Rt. 133 and the Concord St., one of the more beautiful roads we get to ride on the NS.
There may be port-a-johns up the hill from the parking area and near the barns.
There are several nearby locations for lunch. J.T. Farnham's on RT 133 is a slight walk away from the parking area and provides a great view of the marsh over to the back side of Crane Beach. C.K. Pearl and Shea's are in Essex. Both are along the Essex River and also provide a view out thru the marsh. All three places feature NE coastal cuisine, but C.K. Pearl and Shea's may have the better selection of drafts.
